From September 1, 2025, the information card must be submitted only electronically. This is important for employers who are required to notify the authorities that a foreign national is employed by them.
Main change: paper forms are abolished from September 1, 2025
Previously, the information card could be submitted either electronically or in paper form. After September 1, 2025, submission will only be possible electronically.
Who this obligation applies to
This obligation applies when an employer hires a foreign national who falls under Section 23a of the Labour Code. In other words, this concerns the employment of a foreign national for whom no work permit or labour office approval is required.
Submission deadline: 7 working days from the start of employment
If the employer falls under this obligation, the information card must be submitted within seven working days from the start date of the foreign national’s employment.
What is needed for electronic submission
If you are an employer to whom this obligation applies, you must have access to government e-services through the portal slovensko.sk, have a valid temporary residence card, permanent residence card or other relevant ID, as well as an activated code and electronic signature, in order to submit the information card electronically.
Risks for the employer
Failure to submit the information card may result in fines for the employer, so it is important to keep track of this obligation.
